We often get caught up in the big stories; hurricanes, earthquakes and so on. And while they affect a greater number of people, we can't forget the importance of the work done throughout the community each day. A house fire is just as devastating to the family who their lost home. It doesn't matter to them that it didn't make national headlines...they still lost everything.
The monthly highlight section will serve to remind us that the need is still just as great, even in the quiet times. It will also serve as a testament to our wonderful and dedicated volunteers.
Services provided in June:
Services to Armed Forces
The chapter connected 132 servicemen to their families through emergency communications; bringing the total services provided to over 200.
Disaster Services
June was a very quiet month. There were 24 fire responses, totaling 69 individuals helped with disaster related needs.
Health & Safety Services
More than 1,800 people throughout the community were trained in CPR, Aquatics and other lifesaving courses.
